Getting There

Location

The hotel is located at the corner of Great America Parkway and Tasman Drive, adjacent to the Santa Clara Convention Center and across the street from the Great America theme park.  It is right in front of the VTA Great America light rail station, and has free parking in the hotel garage and surface lots.

Transportation

The hotel is easily accessed by car and by all forms of public transportation.

By Car

To get there by car, it is located along Great America Parkway between highway 237 and US-101.  There is free parking in the hotel garage and a nearby overflow parking area, but for those attending the public day you are encouraged to take public transit and avoid worrying about parking.

• From SJC Airport take US 101 north to Great America Parkway and turn right (about 10-15 minutes)
• From SFO Airport take US 101 south to Great America Parkway and turn left (about 35-45 minutes)
• From OAK Airport take I-880 south to CA 237 west (toward Mountain View) and exit at Great America Parkway and turn left (about 45-60 minutes)

By Transit

For public transit users, it is located right on the VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) light rail system – the Great America station is on Tasman right in front of the hotel.  In addition, there are bus routes on both Tasman and Great America, including line 60 which goes directly to Valley Fair Mall, where the nearest LEGO store is.  Train frequency and bus service drops significantly in the evenings and on weekends.  Check the schedule at 511.org or Google Maps transit directions for details.  Amtrak also stops a few blocks away.

  • Served by Amtrak Capitol Corridor and Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) trains.
  • Connections to other Amtrak routes at Emeryville (California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, San Joaquin) and San Jose (Coast Starlight) stations.
  • Station is located under the Tasman Drive overpass, where the VTA light rail runs.  The Lick Mill light rail station, where you can catch a train to the hotel, is 1/3 mile to the east along Tasman. See transit and walking directions on Google Maps for more options.
• VTA Light Rail and Buses
  • From SJC Airport, take the #10 Airport Flyer bus to the Metro/Airport light rail station, then ride light rail bound for Mountain View to Great America Station (about 1 hour total)
  • From SFO Airport, take BART from the International Terminal to the Millbrae station, take Caltrain toward San Jose and get off at Mountain View (for shortest trip, check the Caltrain schedule for “baby bullet” service), then ride the VTA light rail to Great America (about 2 hours total)
  • From OAK Airport, take bus #21 to Fruitvale BART station, then ride BART to Fremont.  From there, take the VTA bus 181 to Stevenson & Farwell, then board the VTA light rail bound toward Mountain View and get off at Great America (about 2 hours 45 minutes total).
